From a business search to useful details
Start with a business name and location, or search for a type of business in an area. Maps and Places APIs return matching listings with details such as addresses, coordinates, and ratings where available.
Keep the place identifier when the response includes one. You can use it for follow-up requests, including review text, without searching for the same business again. A listing’s rating and review count are separate from the reviews themselves.
For research across a city, plan for several queries and remove duplicate results. Search results do not guarantee a complete list of businesses in an area. Contact details also vary: if a listing gives you a website but no email address, checking that website is a separate step.

Before you start
Can I turn an address into coordinates?
Yes. The geocoding guide shows how to send a complete address or place name and read the coordinates of a matching listing. It covers a server-side lookup; a field that suggests addresses as someone types needs a dedicated autocomplete service.
Can I collect every business in a city?
A single maps query returns results around a map area. Multiple queries and deduplication can broaden coverage. Apify Maps actors also support bulk collection, but check the actor and its limits before assuming your dataset is complete.
Can I get review text as well as ratings?
Yes. Maps and Places queries return ratings and review counts where available. Review text uses a separate request, such as Serper’s reviews endpoint, with the same NativePort key.
